S&M Sweetheart

The dominatrix look is in and every aspiring fashionista is clambering to get a piece of the action. But what of those who are too timid to don head-to-toe pleather? Is there a way of adding a little bit of S&M to your life without looking like a complete nympho or even (gasp) a backup dancer for Madonna?

Fortunately, Swarovski has the perfect solution - The Fetish Ring.

It recently featured in Grazia Magazine and hasn't left our thoughts since. This hauntingly stunning statement piece is ruthenium-plated and is set with a strong mix of Jet and Jet Hematite, Blue Zircon and Purple Velvet crystals in various cuts and sizes. The Pointiage setting adds a distinctive dazzle to the ring.

"Statement Pieces" recommends it be paired with anything from a simple blazer to a buttersoft "boyfriend" style tee - the only necessity is a set of well manicured nails, cut short and rounded, with a splash of raven black polish.

Sure, at almost $400 (AU) the ring is slightly lavish, however, think of it as a tool of self empowerment. Its the only S&M themed accessory that doesn't make you feel like a dirty "adult store" patron.

Prehistoric Princess

From the primordial ooze to my porcelain decolletage evolves a statement piece of prehistoric proportions!
Fresh from "Statement Pieces" favourite accessories store Mimco, this neckpiece is an evolutionary revolution. Said to be inspired by life in the modern day jungle, the Jurassic Facet Pendant mixes wood with a faceted mirror in a textured hyperbole that is more a sculpture than an accessory. An excellent conversation piece, the pendant is surprisingly light and sits securely on a tri-chained fob. Not for the faint hearted, make sure you keep other accessories to a minimum - you don't want anything pulling focus from this majestic piece. At $299 I suggest you head to your nearest Mimco store before it's extinct.
